The Sketchbook
The studio is, for me, a spiritual place: as an artist I grapple each and every day with my own innards - there is no one else at that particular easel, in that particular moment, but me and my understanding - the exposure is constant and the call to honesty a loud "thrump" not nearly far enough in the background - there is no luxury of discourse or explanation. The work stands on its own - or not.
The studio is also a spritual place because it honors the "innards", the "thrumps", the "stuff" of every other soul who works in that space. It is community.
Here I share my journey, the artists who inform that particular day, the challenges of the work - what it seems to be about now -
